Eight suspects are being hunted after an armed robbery at a Mankweng filling station, where staff and motorists were robbed at gunpoint.
Authorities in Mankweng are searching for eight suspects linked to an armed robbery at a filling station near Moria in the early hours of Monday.
According to the South African Police Service, the incident occurred shortly after midnight when a group of masked individuals entered the premises armed with firearms and took control of the site.
Police say the suspects attempted to avoid detection by changing into petrol attendant uniforms, allowing them to blend in while continuing the robbery. During the incident, two motorists who arrived at the station were also targeted, robbed, and forced inside the store.
The group fled with cash, cigarettes, and a safe using a Daihatsu Terios and a Volkswagen Caddy. One of the vehicles was later recovered abandoned in Segoreng.
